A seasoned veteran in the container leasing industry with more than thirty years of experience, Mr. Wong founded Raffles in 2006 when he joined Buss Capital Funds Singapore Partnership ("BCFSP") as Managing Partner. As the Managing Partner of BCFSP from 2006 through early 2012, Mr. Wong was responsible for defining, implementing and managing BCFSP's overall business, investment and operational strategies. As the President of Raffles Lease, Mr. Wong drives its business strategy and oversees the operational strategy. He also serves as a director of BGH.
Immediately prior to joining BCFSP, Mr. Wong was President of Grand View Development (HK) Ltd. ("GVC"), now known as UES International (HK) Holdings Ltd., which he joined in 2006. He was responsible for its strategic development and operations. During his tenure, he successfully established private equity funding for GVC via the German KG market and helped propel GVC to become one of the of top ten lessors in the container leasing industry.
Mr. Wong has an EMBA in Shipping, Offshore and Finance from Nanyang Technological University and BI Norwegian School of Management.
Chief Financial Officer
As CFO of Raffles Lease, Mr. Kennedy is responsible for the formulation and implementation of financial policies, goals and objectives, financial reporting and budgeting, managing audit, tax and legal issues as well as relationship management with banking partners.
Prior to joining Raffles Lease in 2010, Mr. Kennedy was the Head of Finance at Cambridge Industrial Trust Management Limited where he was responsible for financial performance of the SG$700 mm (by market capitalisation) REIT. He also held the positions of Financial Controller and Company Secretary of MacarthurCook Investment Managers (Asia) Limited where he was involved with the MacarthurCook Industrial REIT IPO in Singapore.
Mr. Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Newcastle (Australia) and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Cooper joined Raffles Lease as Vice President, Europe & Americas in 2013 and is responsible for all sales and marketing activities in those regions, with over 20 years' experience in the Container leasing industry.
Before joining Raffles Lease, Mr. Cooper was Vice President Europe, Sales & Marketing for GE Seaco and was responsible for all sales and marketing activities in the European region, which included the Middle East and Africa. Prior to employment at GE Seaco from 2006, Mr. Cooper was a founding member and management shareholder in Gateway Container International Limited, which was founded in early 1997 and eventually sold to Textainer in June 2006. Mr. Cooper's responsibility at Gateway was initially for Sales & Marketing within the areas of the UK, Middle East, Benelux and Greece and then developed into the role of acting Vice President, Europe and Middle East, being responsible for all the sales & marketing activities in that region.
Prior to being a founding management shareholder of Gateway, Mr. Cooper was at Genstar Container Corporation from 1992 through 1996, holding the position of Area Manager, UK, Middle East and Greece and being responsible for the sales and marketing activities in that area as well as the fiscal and employee responsibilities of running Genstar's London office.
Mr. Cooper holds a BA honours degree in Geography from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
Vice President, IT
Mr. Yazykov joined Buss Global as Director of Information Technology in 2011 and is responsible for maintenance and enhancement of business applications and global IT and communication infrastructure.
Mr. Yazykov has more than 17 years of experience in systems development with a prime focus on international shipping. Successfully completed more than 20 custom software development and IT consulting projects for containership business leaders and financial organizations.
In his last position with Eagle Hill Container Management, Mr. Yazykov developed corporate operating system for container fleet management and tracking, container specifications storage, and contracts management. This project involved liaising with depots and terminals worldwide for establishing electronic data exchange interfaces.
Mr. Yazykov holds a bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
Manager, Credit & Risk
Mr. Lim joined Raffles Lease as Credit Risk Manager in Sep 2012 and is responsible for credit risk and contracts management.
Mr. Lim started his credit role in an offshore bank for 4 years before moving to GE SeaCo where he stayed for 8 years. During the stint in GE SeaCo, he was responsible for the credit risk management of 232 active customers in the Asia Pacific region. He moved back to banking in 2008, where he held positions in credit investment and credit control in Norinchukin Bank, Singapore.
Mr. Lim received his Commerce degree (Finance) from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia.
Tan Wee Kok
Mr. Tan joined Raffles Lease as Operations Director in Jan 2012 and is responsible for the operations of the business.
Prior to joining Raffles Lease, Mr. Tan was the Fund Management Director of Buss Global responsible for analysis, benchmarking performance of various equipment managers, transferring of management rights and preparing fleet performance reports to shareholders.
Mr. Tan holds an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and is a Singapore Chartered Accountant.
